Quality Review

The quality review is the result of extensive evidence gathering and analysis by Texas educators of how well instructional materials satisfy the criteria for quality in the subject-specific rubric. Follow the links below to view the scores and read the evidence used to determine quality.

Standards Alignment

Rubric Section 1
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and English Language Proficiency Standards-Alignment Review
Standards-alignment review team members review instructional materials to determine the extent to which the science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) are covered and to identify factual errors. To be eligible for adoption by the State Board of Education, instructional materials must meet at least 50% of the TEKS and 100% of the required ELPS in the components intended for student use and the components intended for teacher use, be free from a factual error, meet manufacturing specifications, be suitable for the intended course and grade level, and be reviewed by academic experts. The review results in four outputs related to the percentage of TEKS and ELPS present in the materials designed for teacher and student use as seen below: Student TEKS %, Teacher TEKS %, Student ELPS %, and Teacher ELPS %. All materials must be reviewed for standards alignment.
